| Unless I'm reading that wrong, there's a three-year overlap between those two separate groups, created for almost every discipline. Is that by design? |

Hi Sujeet,
Welcome to VESIT Alumni 
Actually the initial idea was to give a seperate forum to each batch each stream. However the place would look a bit disjoint and it would become impossible to manage all these forums (15 x 5 = ~75 forums).
Some changes have been done  depending on the response and suggestions there may be more changes.
